What the Heck is a Ripstick?

The Ripstik is a board that is designed very differently then any board you saw in the market. The board has only two wheels that rotate 360 degrees. The wheels are placed on two floors connected by a spring rotating bar. Floors Twist opposite one another to create the motion needed to move forward. This is why you can be moved without their feet touching the ground. Ripstik wheels are designed to be able to walk for a long time. A typical wheel wear fast on Ripstik because the ride never steps off the board while walking. With the wheel design contour Ripstik wheels last longer. The wheels are 76 millimeters in size and 85A, and the bearings are ABEC5. Ripstik wheels keep you walking more before you need to change them.

The platforms are made of high quality and very strong ABS plastic. You can ride you board for a long time before you will notice a difference in the ability to walk. Although the board is a little heavy, so most types of card, it actually has less effect with this card when they cross the streets. On top of the platforms are the face plates and grip. The outer grip gives your foot a nice hold around the perimeter of each platform. So if your feet slide for some reason the grip will grab your shoe and hold it on the board. In the middle of the top of each deck are the grip pads. These grip pads are small sections of grip to get the most of your shoe to the deck. On top of the Ripstik decks are the interchangeable deck plates. There are decks of silver, green, blue, red and pink that can be placed anywhere Ripstik. Customize your Ripstik trading floor boards with others. Try putting a blue deck and one green deck together, or a combination of two other colors. Incorporating the colors of the wheels and the design and the possibilities are endless. At the bottom of the board is where are the screws to remove a deck plate and change it.

The two ABS decks are connected to a spring loaded rotating bar. This is the technology of the Ripstik that makes it different from say a normal skateboard. This bar is what allows you to rotate each deck to twist individually to produce the movement you need to propel yourself without pushing off the ground. The free-wheel swivel 360 degrees and twist back on their feet each floor rotates. The correct movement is an "S" with your shoulders and hips, and it is this movement along with the technology of the Ripstik that drives forward. When you get right in the Ripstik you will not think about how it works. It just becomes so natural, and you will be able to balance like you are walking. Hopefully, the understanding of technology and how it works will help you get started and more comfortable on your Ripstik.
