The Ripstik is the board with the crazy style of riding. His feet do not have to touch the ground moving, you can walk very fast but maintain balance while walking very slow. You can turn on a dime or carve down a hill as if on the track. You can mount them up the hill with ease, ride them on sidewalks or in a garage. You can run them, bust some insane freestyle tricks or ride ramps, even get a group of riders together and play sports team on them. The possibilities are endless and the fun never stops. I saw a lot of skaters who are very skeptical. They just need to try to mount one. They are tons of fun to ride and make friends together who all have the Ripstik.

Imagine snowboarding on the street, but you have the ability to go anywhere, up or down. Now add the agility skating, turning and moving with ease and balance, which is like the Ripstik feel. If you have not tried one you need to find a friend who has one or get one for yourself. You will learn how to ride it in just a few minutes and I've never seen anyone who can not get the balance and walking. It may seem intimidating, but do not worry, you will learn to walk fast and with confidence in minutes. When you're learning to walk take is slow and may have a friend help you balance. Then try your own. Once you get comfortable you can start working on tricks.

The Ripstik comes in a wide variety of color appearance, silver red, blue, green and pink are the colors they have now. The deck boards are also interchangeable. So if you have a green deck and decide you want a blue deck, no problem, it only takes 2 minutes to switch them off and you have a new brand to the plate with a different color. Wheels also come in different colors and are very simple to replace.

Let me give a word of caution when riding the Ripstik. They have no breaks. I absolutely love to walk too fast down hills on my Ripstik but you should be very careful not to gain too much speed that you can not stop safety or security. I recommend starting on the flat and only ride hills with gradual slopes. If you feel confident, you can try more hills, but always use protective pads, and especially the helmet. Also, never walk where there are cars that can get in your way of riding. If you're cruising down a hill and can not stop a car and head out, there is nothing good that can come from that.

So remember to ride smart and safe. Always wear a helmet. If you are someone who has never tried the Ripstik I suggest you find a friend who has some advice to try and get one for yourself, you will not regret it. Getting there and have as much fun as you can in this amazing forum called Ripstik.

Western Saddle Evolution
One usually thinks of the western saddle as an American style of riding, but in fact it's origins can be traced back to the Moorish horsemen and warriors of the Dark Ages. When the Moors invaded Spain in 700, brought with them their unique style of riding and tack. Their saddles were designed for battle with longer stirrups to accommodate their armor and cantle than those provided in the saddle of security and protection against their enemies. So it was mainly Knights and Crusaders who us......
